A514 is a quenched and tempered high strength weldable steel plate under ASTM standards. ASTM A514 steel plate is characterized by high strength and good weldability. A514 has high strength, good fatigue resistance; high toughness and low brittle transition temperature; good cold forming performance and welding performance; has good corrosion performance and a certain degree of wear resistance.
ASTM A514 steel plate is a quenched and tempered alloy steel used in applications that require a particularly high yield strength. A514 has a minimum yield strength of 100 ksi (690 MPa). Grades B, S and E are by far the most common, however we have other grades available. Each grade is limited to a range of thicknesses.
ASTM A514 Grade S plates provides good formidability and toughness in a high strength low weight steel. SA514 Grade B High yield Strength plate used in cranes, trailers, mining and hauling equipment all use A514 steel.
astm a514 A quenched & tempered, high-strength, weldable steel plate utilized in structural applications. Because of this material’s high yield strength it is ideal for projects requiring a light weight steel without sacrificing durability or toughness.

The first two digits represent the main alloying elements, and the last two digits represent the carbon content present in the alloy in hundredth of a percent. The following datasheet gives an overview of AISI A514 grade A alloy steel, which has high yield strength.
A514 is a high strength low alloy (HSLA) material grade used in structural applications requiring superior strength. A514 has a minimum yield strength of 100ksi up to 2.5” thick, and a 90ksi minimum yield strength from 2.5” to 8” thick. Standard stock grades are B, H, F, Q, S, & E, with alternative grades available upon request.

The ASTM A514 specification is the Standard Specification for High-Yield-Strength, Quenched and Tempered Alloy Steel Plate, Suitable for Welding used in applications where Yield Strengths of ≥ 100 ksi are required for plates up to 2-1/2" thick, inclusive.
ASTM A514 steel plate/sheet is a quenched and tempered high yield strength steel used in structural applications where high strength and low weight are critical. The tensile yield strength of A514 is specified as at least 100ksi(689MPa) for thicknesses up to 2.5 inched(63.5mm) thick plate, and at least 110ksi(758MPa) ultimated tensile strength, with a specified ultimate range of 110-130 ksi (758-896
A514 Grade S,ASTM A514Gr.S ,A514 Grade S steel plate
The max thickness of A514 Grade S is 65mm. in the heat treatment, A514 Grade S shall be heat treatment by the mill to conform to the tensile and hardness requirements by heating to not less 900 degree and quenching in water or oil, tempering at not less 620 degree.
Nov 29, 2004 · United States Steel was first to introduce this fine material under their proprietary name T-1 steel. Due to the proprietary nature, the alloy composition of the material could not be divulged. Therefore, the industry introduced the ASTM A 514 as equivalent to T-1 steel. There are several grades for A514. Each grade has separate mechanical properties.
ASTM A514 Low-alloy Structural Steel Plate Grade B
ASTM A514 Low-alloy structural steel plate grade B ASTM A514 steel plate is lower-cost, high performing alloy steel plate and known for its high yield strength, weldability and toughness, even at low temperatures. The A514 steel are a group of quenched and tempered alloys with many attractive advantages and characteristics.
ASTM A572 Grade 50, 60 Steel Plate Sepcification ASTM A572 standard is for high strength low alloy (HSLA) structural steel plate integrated with columbium-vanadium, the specification covers 5 grades of HSLA steel profiles, plates, sheet piling, and bars.
